I started making these compilations for the good folk on the scopitones forum.

I have done 10 over the last couple of years, starting with random tunes, then moving on to 'themed' selections (from #4 onwards, if memory serves...).

Point of principle: the tracklist will be posted only when the next half hour goes up. Reason: there's something intrinsically pleasurable about listening to a compilation when you don't know who anything is by; it reduces innate prejudice against certain artists.

Anyway, here is the first, from way back in June 2007:
